GOOGLE EARTH
SignalTrack can use Google Earth directly as a mapping display. To use Google Earth it is necessary
to first make a bitmap based map using MapFix (see "Creating Maps Using MapFix" on page 9) as
described previously or to use an ESRI map file. Note if you use an ESRI map file your computer will
require 4 gigabytes of RAM or you may try setting the RAM cache for Google Earth to a smaller
number. In general we do not recommend using ESRI maps when using Google Earth. Next you
must install Google Earth from the Google Earth http://earth.google.com/ website. SignalTrack
requires Google Earth 4.3 or later.
CONFIGURING SIGNALTRACK TO USE GOOGLE EARTH
To use Google Earth as a mapping display first open a map made with MapFix or an ESRI map.
Note if you intend to use an ESRI map it is required that you have at least 2 gigabytes of RAM and 4
gigabytes is recommended.
Next go to the Setup->Options menu and click on the Display tab to show the following dialog.
Check the Enable Google Earth checkbox and press Apply or OK.
If Google Earth is installed on the machine in the default location it will immediately start up.
